Position Overview:
The Senior Proposals Specialist plays a crucial role in the development of proposals and contracts while advocating for CB&I Storage Solutions' offerings. This senior-level position requires a deep understanding of CB&I Storage Solutions' markets, products, and clientele, functioning as an independent contributor who reports directly to the regional business development lead and collaborates closely with regional operational leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior individual contributor responsible for crafting new business proposals and contracts within a specific sub-region or country.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with commercial terms, contract structures, and pricing, collaborating with the Legal and Finance Departments as necessary.
- Maintain and update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure accuracy and currency of information.
- Draft, edit, and organize proposal documents, ensuring timely revisions following reviews.
- Collaborate with Legal and other corporate teams to provide comprehensive input.
- Engage with the project bid team to ensure that company liabilities and legal obligations are clearly defined in contracts.
- Review bid invitation documents alongside relevant corporate departments.
- Ensure that all submitted proposals comprehensively address Commercial, Legal, and Taxation considerations.
- Establish a well-defined Commercial execution strategy for all proposals submitted.
- Evaluate the scope of bid invitation documents and recommend optimal work package divisions to the Business Development Specialist/Manager, considering local contractor capabilities and track records.
- Identify contractual obligations that require flow-down and advise the Subcontract Manager accordingly.
- Analyze commercial issues related to new territories or clients and provide guidance to the team.
- Ensure that a commercial baseline and contract summary documentation are established upon project award.
- Contribute to project control and accounting procedures, processes, and systems.
- Guarantee that Risk Management, Project Controls, and value improvement processes are effectively implemented and managed throughout the contract duration.
- Safeguard the company's commercial interests by monitoring contract compliance.
- Evaluate and approve deviations from standard Terms & Conditions through responsible functions.
- Prepare regional framework agreements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior-level proposals role, working independently with minimal supervision.
- Over 10 years of experience in commercial contracting/legal, with a preference for 3+ years in EPC Operations.
- Typically, 8+ years of experience post-degree.
- A professional degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with CB&I Storage Engineering, Fabrication, and Construction methodologies.
- Knowledge of CB&I Storage Solutions products and key market sectors.
