Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at St. John's Riverside Hospital. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will be responsible for producing high-quality radiographs and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Imaging Services: Produce radiographs of various body parts, positioning patients under the X-Ray machine and regulating technical factors to ensure optimal image quality.
- Assisting Radiologists: Assist radiologists in X-Ray procedures, preparing patients, drawing contrast media, mixing barium, and maintaining daily work logs.
- Patient Safety: Position and transfer patients to and from the x-ray table using proper safety techniques, select proper technical factors for examinations, and develop film by automatic or daylight processing.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain daily worksheets for assigned rooms, ensure orderliness and cleanliness of assigned rooms, and rotate radiographic/fluoroscopic/OR rooms when assigned.
- Quality Assurance: Follow all Federal, State, and hospital health safety codes, especially in reference to Radiation, electrical, and mechanical safety, and review and incorporate the Hospital and Department Mission Statements in daily work activities.
- Communication: Provide explanations of tests to patients, obtain signatures on consent forms, and use a particulate respirator (mask) when exposed to patients with suspected or known TB.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an approved school for Radiologic Technology.
- Licensure: Current NYS license/registration in Radiologic Technology.
- Certification: ARRT registered.
- Skills: Strong verbal communications and customer service orientation.
