Obstetric Nurse Specialist

Position Overview
As a Maternity Care Registered Nurse, you will provide comprehensive care to women during the labor and delivery process. Your responsibilities will include monitoring both the mother and the newborn, offering guidance to mothers, and collaborating with physicians. You will prepare families for the childbirth experience and support patients with breastfeeding after delivery.
In addition to assisting during labor and delivery, you will also care for patients facing complications during pregnancy and provide support to surgical teams during cesarean sections. Maternity Care Registered Nurses can be employed in various environments, including hospital delivery units, medical offices, birthing centers, and community health clinics. Flexibility may be required, as you may be asked to assist in Postpartum or Mother-Baby units based on patient volume.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Degree
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Degree
- Completion of an ADN or BSN program and successful passage of the NCLEX examination is necessary for RN licensure.
- Active state nursing license is required for practice.
- Certifications in NRP and AWHONN are commonly expected.
