Key Responsibilities- Administer medications to residents in a timely and accurate manner, following established policies and procedures.
- Perform narcotic counts at the beginning and end of each shift to maintain accurate records.
- Order medications from the pharmacy and ensure that they are received and stored properly.
- Check Medication Administration Records (MARs) for errors and discrepancies.
- Communicate with residents, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.
- Participate in training and education programs to enhance knowledge and skills in medication administration and senior care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure that residents receive high-quality care and services.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medication administration and CPR/First Aid preferred.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of medication administration policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Ability to lift and transfer residents, with or without assistance, up to 100 pounds.
The Medication Aide will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with a focus on providing exceptional care and service to our senior residents. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and making a positive impact in the lives of others.
