Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications to residents in a timely and accurate manner, following established policies and procedures.
  • Perform narcotic counts at the beginning and end of each shift to maintain accurate records.
  • Order medications from the pharmacy and ensure that they are received and stored properly.
  • Check Medication Administration Records (MARs) for errors and discrepancies.
  • Communicate with residents, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Participate in training and education programs to enhance knowledge and skills in medication administration and senior care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure that residents receive high-quality care and services.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medication administration and CPR/First Aid preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of medication administration policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to lift and transfer residents, with or without assistance, up to 100 pounds.
