Job Summary:

LifeBridge Health is seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our Assertive Community Treatment program, you will provide case management, rehabilitative, individual and group services to dually diagnosed clients. Your primary focus will be on providing substance abuse counseling and group counseling services to severely mentally ill consumers in the community, including homes, shelters, and other public places.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual substance abuse counseling and group counseling services to severely mentally ill consumers in a community-based center and at the consumer's place of residence.
  • Establish rapport with consumers, implement clinical interventions, conduct substance abuse assessments in the community, and engage in crisis management.
  • Educate patients about abuse of drugs, HIV risk prevention, and other substance abuse/recovery-related issues, including working on dual diagnosis issues.
  • Participate in treatment plan development as it relates to client needs.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records for assigned caseload, including progress notes, treatment plans, monthly summaries, and psycho-socials.
  • Participate in crisis management and crisis intervention of client when necessary.

Requirements:
  • Requires knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired by completion of a BA or BS in psychology, or related behavioral health fields from an accredited college or university.
  • CSC-AD or CAC-AD Certification preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in an oral and written fashion.
  • Ability to operate a computer and applications such as Windows, Excel, etc.
  • Valid MD Driver's License with less than 2 points on the driving record.
