Job Summary

As a School Counselor with the Rockingham County School Division, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, personal, and social growth of students. This 10-month position requires a graduate of an accredited college or university and possession of appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) for the position as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain standards of behavior for students
  • Deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, administration, and parents
  • Thorough knowledge of subject(s) taught and elementary, secondary or special education principles, practices and procedures

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university
  • Appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) for the position as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board

Working Conditions
  • 10-month position (200 day contract)
