**Job Summary:**
The Resident Advocate Security Monitor is a critical role at Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our residents and staff. This position requires a unique blend of crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and security monitoring skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Resident Safety: Provide on-site supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of residents, including monitoring entrance and exit points, conducting bag and person screenings, and performing hourly patrols of the premises.
- Crisis Intervention and Conflict Resolution: Respond to emergency situations, resolve participant issues using de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques, and provide support to residents in crisis.
- Asset Protection: Protect the shelter's assets from theft, loss, or damage, and report any suspicious events to the direct supervisor.
- Client Support: Assist with daily operations, including meal preparation, medication administration, and program events, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all residents.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and external partners, and work collaboratively with the team to achieve program goals.
Requirements:
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for this position.
- Guard Card: A guard card is required for this position.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
- Experience Working with Homeless Populations: 1-2 years of experience working with homeless populations is preferred.
Work Environment:
The Resident Advocate Security Monitor will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a diverse population of residents. The position requires the ability to work effectively in a team setting, communicate clearly and respectfully with residents and staff, and maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion.
