Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to join our team at the City of Petersburg, VA. As a key member of our Facilities Management Division, you will be responsible for managing and directing the daily operations of our city buildings and ensuring the continued viability of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators.
  • Manage and track budgets, process and manage activities at city facilities, and meet with stakeholders to promote successful project completion.
  • Initiate contract procurement, draft scope of work, specifications, and other procurement instruments.
  • Review contracts and recommend renewals or suspensions.
  • Identify and implement best practices for the maintenance and management of city buildings.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college in facility management, business administration, or a closely related field.
  • Four years of extensive and progressive professional development experience in maintenance and facilities management.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to unusual pressures. The successful candidate must be able to perform light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis.
