Bakery Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Associate to join our team at Walmart. As a Bakery Associate, you will be responsible for driving member service in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less.

Key Responsibilities

• Be a Team Member: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources; communicate and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service; be flexible to the business needs; maintain in-stock levels; and control shrinkage.
• Be an Expert: Plan bakery productions; ensure consistency in quality and accuracy of bakery decorative designs; follow recipe measurement instructions; work with a variety of products (e.g., decorating bags, tips, nozzles) to create decorative flowers and lettering on bakery items; ensure adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment; and demonstrate understanding of product and layout execution.
• Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
• Be an Owner: Drive the performance of the bakery area; ensure quality and date control standards; eliminate waste; prepare for seasonal events that impact the bakery volume (e.g., holidays, graduations, family events); identify member needs; assist members with purchasing decisions; and resolve member issues and concerns.
• Be a Talent Ambassador: Be a brand advocate by valuing the member's experience in Bakery and modeling high-quality service and products; interact with associates to understand roadblocks and assist in training; develop, influence, and inspire them for working in a style that is respectful, supportive, and team-oriented.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; and apply these in executing business processes and practices.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carry out tasks; communicate progress and information; determine and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapt to and learn from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Education Benefits

Live Better U is a company-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Hourly Wage Range

The hourly wage range for this position is $17.00 to $24.00. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
