Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist

About the Role:

This position involves providing mental health treatment services, including substance abuse treatment, to adults and their families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychology or a related field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver evidence-based treatments, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and contingency management (CM), to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor client progress.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on topics such as relapse prevention, coping skills, and healthy relationships.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in the field of addiction treatment.
  • Must meet the qualification of a Qualified Substance Abuse Professional III (QSAP III) by the Alabama Department of Mental Health and Alabama Medicaid.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000, depending on experience.
