Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Planning and Permitting Manager to lead our OSP engineering team. This role involves strategic planning, permitting, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure efficient deployment of our fiber-optic network.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, technical knowledge, and experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop market entry plans for new construction projects, including cost estimates and timelines;
  • Collaborate with OSP design teams to ensure adherence to plan concepts and estimates;
  • Analyze network expansion needs and develop cost-effective deployment strategies;
  • Lead a team of OSP permitting specialists and engineers, providing guidance and mentorship;
  • Manage relationships with permitting authorities and regulatory agencies;
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and right-of-way requirements;
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report progress to senior leadership;

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Relevant telecommunications experience, or 5+ years of experience in OSP engineering, permitting, and planning within the telecommunications or utility industry;
  • 3+ years in a leadership or management role overseeing OSP-related teams;
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification (preferred);
  • Proficiency in fiber network design software (desired);
  • Experience working with state and municipal permitting agencies (valued).
