Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our M60 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) team. As a key member of our care team, you will provide expert care to adult patients with suspected or confirmed seizure disorders. Our EMU is a 15-bed, Level 4 unit that offers a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with seizure disorders
  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Monitor and record patients' conditions, administering prescribed medications and treatments as needed
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Educate patients and their families on seizure management and self-care techniques
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience (military RN experience considered)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements

This role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. You will also need to stand and walk for extended periods, with corrected vision and hearing to normal range. You will work under stressful conditions and irregular hours, with exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
