Inventory Management Specialist Job Description

Job Overview:

The Inventory Management Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing and sustaining stock levels within the maintenance inventory. This position involves processing procurement requests, identifying appropriate alternatives for obsolete components, and liaising with suppliers for necessary materials. The Specialist ensures that all required parts are readily available for ongoing projects and repairs, monitors order statuses, receives deliveries, and updates records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Primary Duties:

  • Prioritize safety in all maintenance-related tasks.
  • Support the Maintenance Supervisor/Planner in executing maintenance strategies.
  • Oversee parts inventory and establish stock thresholds in CMMS.
  • Generate purchase orders and procure parts as required.
  • Receive and accurately document incoming parts.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors.
  • Maintain an organized archive of maintenance documentation.
  • Compile reports as needed.
  • Assist Technicians with various maintenance activities.
  • Perform additional assigned responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with maintenance components.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Work Conditions:
