Job DescriptionAs a Nursing Assistant, you will serve as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long-term care. You will provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Your knowledge of age-appropriate care will ensure that physical and psychological needs are met according to the care plan.
You will be considered a member of the nursing team and will be held accountable for following infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use. Your tasks will include assisting with basic health care needs, such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents.
You will also assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate, aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary, and communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
Requirements- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
