Senior Accountant Job Description

Nortek Air Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of large customer contracts, ensuring alignment between the company and customers on total contract value and billing status.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
  • Perform milestone invoicing and billing reconciliation and review
  • Prepare contract reporting for sales and operational leadership
  • Assist with external audit preparation and analysis
  • Participate in month-end close process, including posting complex journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare annual information tax filings (Form 1099) and industrial property tax returns
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in general accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of complex entity structure
  • Experience with State and Local Taxation, primarily Sales and Use Tax
  • Familiarity with contract accounting, including revenue recognition and contract review
  • Strong knowledge of the Accounting Cycle, Journal Entries, Reconciliations
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong abilities to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word)
