As a Surgical Technologist with CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room. Your expertise will be essential in preparing patients for surgery, maintaining aseptic techniques, and providing comfort and support to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including preparing patient skin for surgery and maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Operating Room Support: Provide support to the surgical team by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case.
- Patient Care: Demonstrate sensitivity to patient care and privacy, and provide comfort and support to pre-operative patients.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as a member of the team caring for the patient, and cooperate in team planning and execution.
- Quality and Safety: Maintain a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices, and adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions for both patient and own safety.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, completion of the Surgical Technology program required.
- Experience: 2 or more years of experience preferred.
- Certifications: BLS required, Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.
