FULL JOB DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE @ TRANSPORTATION

WORK SCHEDULE:
6:00 AM - 2:00 PM & 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
• Must successfully complete state-mandated mechanics assessment.
• Candidate should exhibit proficiency in computer diagnostics for diesel engines utilized in current model school buses within the department.
• Personal mechanic's hand tools, including wrenches, sockets, and tool storage, are necessary - required lists can be provided upon request.
• Must pass a DOT physical examination.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration with bus operators, fellow mechanics, and administrative personnel.
• Ability to execute tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Good communication skills are a must.
• A valid West Virginia operator's license is required, with eligibility for a Commercial Driver's License featuring Passenger and School Bus Endorsements.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a West Virginia Bus Operator Certification and be prepared to serve as a Substitute Bus Operator when necessary.
• Capability to read and interpret technical schematics.
• Ability to clearly document work orders and articulate actions taken.

Note:
Work schedules may be adjusted to accommodate the transportation needs of students. All listed times are approximate.

Important:
Transportation personnel not assigned duties five days a week are expected to report to the transportation department for assignments on those days.
