Job Summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrochemist to lead our Sustainability Through Electrochemistry (STEL) Group. As a key member of our Materials Separations and Analysis Department, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in electrochemistry research and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach junior staff members in electrochemistry and separations techniques.
  • Conduct cutting-edge research in electrochemistry, from fundamental to applied science.
  • Develop and implement new electrochemistry technology advances through collaboration with experts.
  • Implement research in laboratory environments at bench-scale and pilot-scale.
  • Disseminate research results to the external technical community and DOE.
  • Identify new funding opportunities and capture funding for new RD&D work.
  • Participate in mission/strategy sessions with senior R&D leaders.
  • Contribute to talent development and recruiting.
  • Ensure R&D is performed safely, within budget, and within scope.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Author H-index > 15.
  • Experience in analytical electrochemistry, battery electrochemistry, and electrowinning.
