The Internet Technologies Quality Engineering & Operations team is on the lookout for a skilled and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer in Test to elevate our current automation framework.

Our teams are responsible for designing and engineering the essential communication components of iOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS, specifically for Mail, Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications.


We are in search of analytical thinkers who can significantly contribute to the qualification of Apple's software releases, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate should thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and possess the creativity and inspiration to devise innovative solutions for enhancing product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Software Development Engineer in Test, your role will involve implementing a combination of functional, performance, reliability, and end-to-end automated testing for Mail, Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications.

You will collaborate with various engineering teams during the design phase to develop robust and valuable tests. Engaging in code reviews and design discussions will be essential components of this role.

Furthermore, you will create innovative tools aimed at improving our testing efficiency, diagnosing failures, and facilitating effective communication of results through comprehensive reports.

A high level of technical expertise, organization, creativity, motivation, and a results-driven mindset will be crucial for success in this position.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience in software development, tools, and automation
- Proficiency in functional or object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, or Swift
- Ability to define, design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks
- Experience with integrated, end-to-end systems and testing methodologies.

- Familiarity with testing and automating APIs, UIs, and Native Applications
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and tools
- Highly organized, creative, motivated, and passionate about achieving results
- Proficient in refactoring, test automation, emergent design, testable and modular code, and build infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Swift, C/C++, or Objective-C is advantageous
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is just one aspect of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specified range.

This allows for career progression as you grow and develop in your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, with actual base pay depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees may also be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
