Job Summary
At Five Star Senior Living, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Caregiver - LPN to join our Health & Wellness Team. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality care to our residents under the supervision of registered nurses and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Support residents with medication management
- Reposition residents in bed and escort them around the community
- Provide toileting and incontinent care
- Take vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and pulse
- Observe and report on residents' health, escalating any problems efficiently and effectively
- Detail daily reports to the nurse or designated charge person at the end of the shift
- Provide emotional support and serve as a source of comfort for residents and their loved ones
- Recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and report to a supervisor
- Perform nursing assessments, including vital signs monitoring, physical examinations, and health status evaluations, to identify and address resident needs promptly
- Provide wound care and other nursing interventions as directed by the registered nurse or healthcare provider, following applicable state regulations, established protocols, and infection control practices
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must pass State and Company criminal background/drug screens
- Demonstrates effective time management skills
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must have a valid, unrestricted nursing license in the state
- Current CPR certification
- Maintain CEU requirements
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Interpret and implement written or oral policies, procedures, and instructions
- Staff supervision
- Assessment and resident care skills
- Medication management principles and practice
- Written and verbal communication skills
