Detention Officer

Ada County, ID is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Detention Officer to join our team at the Juvenile Detention Center. As a Detention Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, while also providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.

The Detention Officer is responsible for supervising the activities of residents, maintaining safety and security, and ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Supervise residents and ensure their safety and well-being
• Maintain order and discipline within the facility
• Conduct regular security checks and respond to emergencies
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports
• Provide guidance and support to residents to help them achieve their goals
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Experience working with at-risk youth or in a correctional setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
