Position Overview

Atrium Health Cleveland is a 241-bed facility dedicated to serving the greater Cleveland County area and its surroundings. As the first Level III trauma center in North Carolina, we provide advanced emergency services and are committed to enhancing community health through education and support for local organizations.
The Cleveland Progressive Care Unit comprises 64 beds, catering to cardiac, medical, and surgical patients. Our fast-paced environment demands strong critical thinking, organizational skills, and thorough assessment capabilities. The PCU nurse collaborates with our cardiology and hospitalist teams to manage titratable cardiac medications, bipap therapy, and care for post-operative and post-ICU patients. Our unit frequently encounters a range of diagnoses, with the most common being Dysrhythmias, Chest Pain, and Congestive Heart Failure. All patients are monitored via telemetry systems, ensuring continuous oversight. We encourage professional growth through shared governance, ongoing education, and certification opportunities. Job Responsibilities
As a professional nurse, you will deliver nursing care through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in alignment with established policies and procedures under the guidance of supervisory staff. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe work environment and ensure that all responsibilities are executed safely.

Physical Requirements
This role involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Candidates must be able to lift and support up to 35 pounds while handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English communication is required. Candidates should possess intact sensory functions and demonstrate critical thinking and concentration abilities. The ability to respond promptly to changes in patient or unit conditions is essential. Physical abilities testing may be required, along with any additional department-specific physical requirements.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required as per policy guidelines. A current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the relevant state is mandatory. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on departmental needs.
