Geotechnical EIT 1 Job Description

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical EIT 1 to join our team in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, or Virginia. As a key member of our geotechnical engineering team, you will provide technical support for projects in the Energy, Transportation, and Community Development business units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform geotechnical engineering assignments involving investigations for various facilities, including foundations, embankments, and cut slopes.
  • Design geotechnical engineering solutions for natural gas pipelines, compressor stations, and waste landfills.
  • Develop geotechnical monitoring and laboratory testing programs.
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering designs, including rock/soil slope stability, cut slope and fill embankment design, and landslide stabilization.
  • Collect data and gather information or documents.
  • Participate in laboratory testing and field investigations.
  • Perform basic computations or analysis.
  • Assist with preparation of engineering deliverables.
  • Observe construction activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) or engineering-intern (EI) certification.
  • Driver's license.
