Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this role is to return patients to optimal physical function and facilitate achievement of patient, physician, and therapy goals. The Speech Language Pathologist will follow all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintain established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration as well as Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Screen and evaluate all residents to determine need for Speech, Language or Swallowing Therapy.
  • Establish an individualized treatment program with consultation to facility staff in areas of Speech Therapy.
  • Provide results of the evaluation and treatment objectives to caregivers, family members, and residents.
  • Complete all documentation as required by the fiscal intermediary, within the designated time frame.
  • Implement the treatment program based on evaluative results.
  • Monitor the resident's response to treatment and alter the treatment plan as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university and licensure accordingly.
  • Previous experience in long-term care preferred, but not required.
