Reporting To:
Extrusion Supervisor

Shift:
1st and 3rd shift

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Extrusion Technician is responsible for executing production runs, ensuring both the rate and quality of output are maintained throughout the process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate extrusion production orders efficiently.
  • Manage secondary equipment operations, including cut-to-length systems and post-cure ovens.
  • Prepare and operate material mills to mix and refresh compounds as directed.
  • Adhere to established production protocols and utilize saved process parameters.
  • Initiate production runs and secure first piece approvals.
  • Monitor production metrics, maintaining quality standards throughout the operation.
  • Interpret work orders, blueprints, and engineering specifications to resolve issues.
  • Utilize all equipment controls and operator interfaces effectively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records within the IQMS system.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and fellow technicians to ensure seamless operations.
  • Uphold a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Strong organizational abilities and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficiency in computer operations.
  • Willingness to wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Positive attitude and effective communication skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Proficient in reading and writing in English.
  • Mathematical skills for basic calculations.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to tasks and seek assistance when needed.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, and employees are expected to stand for extended periods. Safety training will be provided to ensure a secure working atmosphere.
