Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to contribute to our dynamic team. The Senior GL Accountant will utilize their accounting expertise to support our rapidly growing organization and promote the joy of gardening.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute month-end closing tasks, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts.
  • Collaborate with the business to ensure accurate and timely accounting of all transactions.
  • Assist in preparing semi-annual and year-end audit requests, addressing inquiries as necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify, develop, and ensure the application of internal controls over financial reporting as required.
  • Communicate and assist in implementing opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry or public accounting experience at a senior accountant level is preferred.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm is a plus; e-commerce experience is also advantageous.
  • Understanding of full-cycle accounting.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced internet environment and quickly learn new business-related software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel formulas.
  • Ability to work at a desk and on a computer for extended periods.
