Job Title: Clinical ChaplainAt Hackensack Meridian Health, we are committed to providing compassionate care to our patients and their families. As a Clinical Chaplain, you will play a vital role in supporting the spiritual and emotional needs of our patients, families, and team members.
Responsibilities:- Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and team members through individual and group counseling, prayer, and other forms of spiritual care.
- Assess and document the spiritual needs of patients and families, and develop and implement plans to meet those needs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care that addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and provide spiritual support.
- Develop and lead educational programs and workshops on spiritual care and wellness.
- Provide spiritual support and guidance to patients and families during times of crisis, loss, and transition.
- Collaborate with community clergy and other spiritual leaders to provide spiritual care and support to patients and families.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the spiritual care provided to patients and families.
- Master's degree in pastoral studies, theology, or a related field.
- Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from a nationally recognized and accredited organization.
- Endorsement from a pastoral leader of one's religious denomination.
- Three years of experience in pastoral ministry, with a focus on clinical chaplaincy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
