Position Summary:
The Production Technician II plays a vital role in the manufacturing process of probiotic formulation blends, serving as an intermediate level contributor to the production team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in the blending, packaging, and distribution of probiotic products, along with data collection and sample handling.
- Set up production equipment and maintain cleanliness in production areas.
- Conduct sample collection and submission as required.
- Perform routine monitoring checks to ensure process integrity.
- Carry out equipment verification and calibration tasks, including temperature and balance assessments.
- Complete assigned daily, weekly, and monthly checklists as directed by the supervisor.
- Manage inventory levels of production materials and supplies.
- Oversee the packing, shipping, and receiving of materials.
- Ensure accurate documentation of technical records.
- Input production data accurately into systems.
- Provide support in fermentation operations through cross-training as necessary.
- Assist with preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
- Actively engage in Food Safety and Quality Assurance Programs.
- Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and relevant documentation.
- Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) assessments and investigations.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree or equivalent coursework is preferred.
- Specialized Knowledge:
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Personal Attributes:
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to work independently.
- Sound decision-making skills.
- Positive demeanor and teamwork orientation.
Certifications:
- HACCP Certification is advantageous.
- Training as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) is beneficial.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in food production, sanitation, safety, quality assurance, inventory management, or maintenance within food processing environments.
