About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nondestructive Test Engineer II to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Materials and Process Engineering section, you will be responsible for performing various non-destructive testing tasks to support production operations, developmental design, and failure analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform non-destructive testing tasks, including radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and penetrant testing.
  • Develop and implement non-destructive testing procedures and techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop unique test plans, proper sequencing, and validate inspection techniques and setups.
  • Manage a wide variety of tasks within schedule and budget requirements.
  • Communicate results with engineering customers and document on engineering reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or 9+ years of experience in absence of a degree.
  • NAS 410 Level 2 or 3 Certification in multiple methods, including ultrasonic, radiography, magnetic particle, and fluorescent penetrant testing.
  • Experience in using multiple non-destructive test methods, including digital radiography, film radiography, ultrasonic testing, and contact/immersion/CSAM techniques.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience interpreting and developing NDT procedures and technique sheets.
  • Strong background in non-destructive inspection of aerospace products, including composites, castings, welds, braze joints, microcircuits, and computer card assemblies.
  • NAS 410 Level 3 Certification in ultrasonic contact/immersion/C SAM/acoustic microscopy testing, radiographic film/filmless testing, fluorescent/visible dye penetrant testing, magnetic particle wet/dry testing, and visual/weld inspections.
  • Knowledge of MIL STD 883 & 750, JEDEC J-STD-035, IPC A 610, IPC J-STD-001.
  • Other failure analysis equipment, including digital/optical microscopes, laser milling, die shear/bond pull machine, plasma etching, and ESD protection.
