Job Overview

The Utah Transit Authority is seeking a highly skilled Project Control Specialist to join our Capital Construction Project Delivery teams. This role requires strong analytical and organizational skills to manage project control activities, ensure timely completion of projects, and coordinate with various stakeholders.

About the Role

As a Project Control Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing project budgets, schedules, and resources for multiple capital projects, including Streetcar, Light and Commuter Rail, Bus Rapid Transit, UTA facilities, Information Technology, Safety, Security, Mobility Management, Real Estate, and more.
  • Preparing staffing plans, coordinating budgeting activities, and overseeing project schedules, procurement schedules, and cost status reports to monitor progress.
  • Providing grant support and administration services for multiple UTA departments, reviewing MPRs and FFRs for consistency before submission to the Federal Transportation Administration.
  • Collaborating with project management teams, consultant schedulers, contract administrators, and the UTA Accounting department to ensure seamless project execution.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 7 years of experience in a business-related field, preferably with some experience in accounting or a related field.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Business, or a related field; a Master's in Business Administration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with contracts process and requirements, bonding and insurance requirements for contractors, and disadvantage business requirements.
  • Understanding of Federal Requirements regarding Grants and Grant Administration, as well as proficiency in LaserFiche, DocuSign, JD Edwards, and IPCS Integrated Project Control System.

Estimate Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is $79,000-$100,000 per year, depending on experience.
