Position Overview:
As a vital member of the PremiStar team, you will engage in the fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance of sheet metal products and structures. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of various projects, ensuring high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Fabrication Shop Manager, you will be expected to:
- Adhere to precise instructions and perform diverse tasks that may frequently change.
- Maintain accuracy in your work and follow established procedures for short-duration tasks.
- Assess information based on measurable criteria.
- Plan, layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal components, utilizing knowledge of both metallic and nonmetallic materials.
- Employ hand tools, power tools, and machinery effectively while interpreting blueprints and specifications.
- Select appropriate gauge and type of sheet metal, including galvanized iron, copper, steel, or aluminum.
- Utilize nonmetallic materials as specified in product guidelines.
- Mark dimensions and reference lines on materials using various measuring tools.
- Apply mathematical and layout skills to develop patterns for products or parts.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines for cutting, bending, and shaping materials.
- Perform tasks such as trimming, filing, grinding, and smoothing surfaces.
- Assemble products using various fastening techniques and tools.
- Inspect completed assemblies for compliance with specifications.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on sheet metal products as necessary.
Additionally, you may operate CAD equipment to create detailed drawings and may be designated by specific metal types or activities related to sheet metal work.

Qualifications:

- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in sheet metal fabrication.

- Knowledge of local logistics and the ability to travel to job sites.
- Willingness to work on-call and overtime as required.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
