Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Communication Systems Engineer to join our engineering team. This role will report to the Senior Director of Electrical Engineering and will focus on the design, validation, and resolution of intricate technical issues associated with electrical and communication systems utilized globally. As part of our electrical engineering division, you will gain practical experience with our control systems, sensors, drives, and communication platforms. This is a high-impact position that offers access to a diverse engineering organization with extensive expertise, internal laboratories with advanced capabilities, and continuous professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop system and component-level requirements while generating innovative design concepts for communication systems involving electrical and embedded software.
- Conduct integration testing for Ethernet communication networks alongside corresponding hardware and embedded software systems.
- Collaborate with compliance agencies to create compliance testing plans and necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers and electronic manufacturing partners to transition designs into production.
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a matrixed team environment.
Qualifications for Success:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Networking, Communication Systems, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in the design of electrical and embedded software communication systems.
- Proficiency in selecting, designing, and validating modules and assemblies with wired communication interfaces (serial, CAN, Ethernet, USB).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively navigate a matrix organization and manage multiple project-related tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Network Systems Engineering, or relevant certifications in networking and communication systems.
- Experience with wireless communication interfaces (BLE, Wi-Fi, Cellular).
- Prior experience in designing or testing systems to comply with global telecommunication standards.
