About the Role

The Quality team at Relativity Space is responsible for ensuring the quality of our products, from design to launch. As a Senior Build Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving quality initiatives and developing processes to support our growing launch vehicle program.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design: Developing and implementing design standards, conducting Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis, and managing configuration control.
  • Planning: Reviewing work instructions, developing processes, and creating standard rework/repair documentation.
  • Assembly: Coordinating in-process build verification, traveling work, and other assembly-related activities.
  • Program: Managing issue tickets, conducting as-built verification, and implementing root cause/corrective action.

You will work closely with Engineering, Additive, Manufacturing, Test, and Launch teams to ensure all company objectives are met. Your ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management will be essential.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced Quality Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related field. You should have at least 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing company, with extensive experience interfacing with design engineering, manufacturing, production, and test personnel.

You should have in-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing/complex assembly practices and typical quality processes/controls. Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and working knowledge of PLM, MES, ERP, and QMS software are also required.

While experience with product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Production Process Verification (PPV) is a plus, it is not required.
