Job Summary:

At Amergis, we are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting. As a PCU RN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to telemetry and progressive care patients. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on a progressive care unit

Perform focused interviews to identify specific patients' needs

Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition

Collect, analyze, and interpret data and information from healthcare members and document actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses

Document the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions

Identify and prioritize actions based upon patient care requirements

Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and hospital policies and patient care outcome standards

Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment

Initiate and evaluate patient and/or family education

Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions

Documents patient's response to nursing and other interventions

Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including establishing priorities

Monitors safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment

Requirements:

Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices

One year prior professional nursing experience preferred with one year progressive care unit experience preferred

Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable

Current CPR if applicable

TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

Computer proficiency required

Must be at least 18 years of age
