Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Financial Planning Analyst to join our corporate team in Miami, Florida.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting strategic initiatives within the Finance and Strategy Team at Norwegian Cruise Line. Responsibilities include monitoring revenue forecasts, planning, and reporting, as well as developing and implementing enhancements to planning and reporting processes. The analyst will be tasked with creating monthly forecasts and annual financial plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile and analyze weekly ticket revenue reports. Collaborate with the team to create monthly revenue forecasts and annual financial plans. Reconcile and address discrepancies between revenue plans and actual results.
- Propose enhancements to current revenue reporting, forecasting, and planning methodologies. Develop and implement improvements to revenue planning models.
- Analyze current market performance against historical data and formulate revenue forecasting recommendations.
- Provide analytical support to internal stakeholders regarding revenue planning and actual performance; undertake ad hoc projects in collaboration with various internal departments.
- Prepare, analyze, and present insights on strategic planning and revenue management improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the IT Systems Group to enhance reporting and analytical tools (data warehouse) and establish documentation procedures.
- Perform additional job-related functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or business planning, particularly with complex data modeling; experience in the cruise line or hospitality sector is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Familiarity with data mining tools (Hyperion/Brio), PeopleSoft accounting general ledger, and Hyperion Essbase for financial reporting and planning, as well as Tableau. Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and reporting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with team members and presenting recommendations.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with various internal stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Capability to manage ad hoc requests alongside existing workload and adjust priorities based on business needs.
- Creative problem-solving skills for business and data modeling to meet productivity expectations.
