Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

As an Underground Transmission Line Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers in the design of underground transmission lines. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop innovative solutions that meet their requirements. Your expertise in routing, duct bank configurations, manhole placement, and electrical principles will be essential in designing transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV. You will also be responsible for cost analyses, development of design criteria, siting and routing challenges, and placement of manholes for underground transmission lines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program and 5 or more years of experience as a member of a project team in observing project schedules and budget constraints on diverse underground transmission projects. You will also need to have proficiency with CYMCAP modeling, cable tensioning calculations and/or software, and experience with XLPE cable design. Additionally, you will need to have knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models, as well as experience in writing and providing support documentation for engineering calculations.
