Rural Carrier Associates with the US Postal Service play a vital role in delivering mail and providing excellent customer service to communities across the country. As a rural carrier associate, you will be responsible for managing a designated route, collecting and delivering mail, and engaging with customers to ensure their needs are met.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the US Postal Service team as a rural carrier associate. In this position, you will be working closely with other teams to deliver mail and packages to residential and business addresses along a specific route. You will also be responsible for handling monies and accountable mail, preparing daily trip reports, and maintaining accurate records of customer information.
Responsibilities
As a rural carrier associate, your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering mail and packages to customers along a designated route
- Collecting and sorting mail in delivery sequence
- Providing excellent customer service and responding to customer inquiries
- Loading and unloading mail from vehicles
- Maintaining accurate records of customer information and trip data
Working Conditions
This role requires you to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, and snow. You will also be required to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the demands of the postal service.
Requirements
To be successful as a rural carrier associate, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record
- The ability to lift up to 70 pounds and stand for long periods
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Estimated Salary Range
$63,000 - $92,000 per year (based on location and experience)
