**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled Community Corrections Specialist to join our team at the City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services.
As a Community Corrections Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting risk and needs assessments, developing individualized case plans, and providing supervision and support to individuals on pretrial release.
You will also facilitate referrals to education and treatment programs, as well as monitor compliance with court orders and conditions of bail.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in criminal justice, human services, or a related field, and will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct risk and needs assessments to identify areas of strength and need for individuals on pretrial release
- Develop and implement individualized case plans that address identified needs and promote community safety
- Provide regular supervision and support to individuals on pretrial release, including home visits and monitoring of electronic devices
- Facilitate referrals to education and treatment programs, as well as other community resources
- Monitor compliance with court orders and conditions of bail, including drug testing and screening
