Job Title: Paraprofessional

The Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. School is a therapeutic day school in Tinley Park, Illinois, providing a supportive environment for intellectually and developmentally delayed students. Our curriculum is designed to cater to the unique needs of each student, with a focus on individualized learning and growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement classroom activities and programs as directed by the Lead Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum, ensuring alignment with research-based best practices.
  • Collect and maintain data on student behavior, as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan (B.I.P.), under the supervision of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (B.C.B.A.).
  • Implement behavior management programs in both structured and unstructured settings, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for students.
  • Provide data on student progress, including completion of IEP goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in ABA Therapy or a related field.
  • Certification as a paraprofessional or substitute teacher in the State of Illinois is required.
  • Two professional references are required, highlighting the candidate's ability to work with children, implement directives, and demonstrate potential for growth and development.
  • A valid IL driver's license meeting DCFS approval is necessary.
  • A criminal background check and physical/drug test are required.
