Job Summary

Mitsubishi Electric US is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Operations Manager to oversee field activities and personnel. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills to ensure the successful execution of construction and modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee assigned territory field activities and personnel to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Field Operations: Supervise all field installation, repair, modernization, and service activities for traction and hydraulic elevators and escalators in assigned territory.
  • Team Management: Supervise field mechanics, crews, and MIC (working and non-working) for all assigned installation and modernization projects.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Plan and coordinate all installation activity with internal departments and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Material Management: Directly plan and coordinate material deliveries with logistics section and other field installation personnel.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all construction and modernization projects achieve or beat planned installation hours goals and meet customers' expectations.
  • Training and Development: Support warehouse activities, both MEUS/EED office/warehouse as well as coordination with outside warehouse locations as required.
  • Performance Management: Provide field manpower planning and manage human resources including adding and reducing manpower as required by workload.
  • Continuous Improvement: Scrutinize completed projects for cost and hours performance, identify the lessons learned or overlooked, then incorporate the new knowledge into day-to-day operations, and future projects of similar stature.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare and maintain construction installation, repair, modernization, and service schedules. Update Job tasking based on progress.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project management team to help ensure customer and company needs are being met.
  • Process Improvement: Make recommendations on updates to installation manual and guidelines as directed.
  • Quality and Safety: Offer recommendations to Quality Assurance and Safety Department on modifications that would allow for improvement of installation efficiency and consistency.
  • Training and Development: Support and implement installation efficiency method improvements and training plan and provide training for field installers.
  • Quality Standards: Ensure MEUS/EED quality standards are met in each installation.
  • Documentation: Ensure adjuster's checklist completion for each unit installed.
  • Reporting: Provide reports as directed by management, to update field efficiency improvement progress and objectives.
  • Trouble Reporting: Initiate, prepare and follow-up on trouble reports as outlined in the Trouble Reporting Process.
  • Collaboration: Cooperate with service sales and branch management staff on open order sales and initiate opportunities where possible.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain and enforce current IIPP and other relevant safety programs.
  • Time Management: Scrutinize time tickets/entries and ensure 100% accuracy of each entry by installation field staff.
  • Procurement: Follow Purchase Order procedures to include timely submittal of packing lists and/or receipts.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrate basic office skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively internally and externally in a clear, accurate, and concise fashion in written format or verbal means.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility: Engage in Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Proven successful track record of managing field installation activities, or equivalent experience in training and supporting installation activities.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree beneficial or equivalent work experience.
  • License: Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record.
  • Technical Skills: Training in basic Microsoft Office skills to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
