Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our Sterile Processing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Decontamination and Sterilization: Decontaminate, clean, package, sterilize, store, and distribute medical/surgical equipment and supplies in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Equipment Management: Manage and maintain equipment, including steam sterilizers, plasma sterilizers, automated endoscope reprocessors, and other medical equipment.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Inventory and restock supplies, and specialty carts, ensuring timely delivery of medical equipment and supplies to departments.
- Quality Control: Validate PM status on equipment issued from and returned to SPD, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and other staff members, to ensure seamless delivery of medical equipment and supplies.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) and completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program or Surgical Technician program.
- Certification: Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution - Technician Certification or Registered Central Service Technician Certificate or Surgical Technologist Certificate.
- Experience: Two (2) years recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician working in Sterile Processing Department in an acute hospital or a Surgical Technician with two (2) years recent experience working in a Sterile Processing Department in an acute hospital.
