Job Title

Island Health is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Anacortes, WA. This is a Per Diem Variable Shift position.

Job Responsibilities
  • Commitment to Team: Develop strong working relationships with colleagues, physicians, and superiors, contributing to problem-solving activities and demonstrating flexibility in staffing needs.
  • Promotes/Provides Safe Patient Care: Understands the importance of patient safety and adheres to established protocols for waived testing, urine measurements, culture setups, blood specimen collection, and laboratory clerical tasks.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience at Island Health or 1 year of documented experience as a Laboratory Assistant
  • Certification by the State of Washington as a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist
  • Qualify under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $19.35 to $28.74 per hour. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off, and other perks.
