Job Summary
The Oak View Group is seeking a highly skilled Banquet Server to provide exceptional hospitality to our guests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for delivering fine dining level food and beverage service to our clients and their guests.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand Banquet Event Orders to ensure seamless execution of events.
- Carry and transport food and beverage items with ease, adhering to our high standards of service.
- Provide friendly and professional contact with guests, anticipating and meeting their needs to ensure a memorable experience.
- Set up and maintain food and beverage stations in various locations throughout the venue, adhering to our standards of service.
- Maintain accurate inventory and stock levels for food and beverage stations.
- Ensure all event areas and front-of-house staging areas are tidy and organized, reflecting our commitment to excellence.
- Participate in setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items, demonstrating a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Work independently during slower periods, utilizing your initiative and problem-solving skills to ensure seamless service.
- Perform safe work practices, contributing to a safe and clean work environment.
- Develop strong relationships with staff and patrons, demonstrating a customer-focused attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays, to meet the demands of our events calendar.
- Be detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all aspects of your work.
- Multitask with ease, handling multiple responsibilities and priorities with poise and professionalism.
- Handle and move objects with care, adhering to our standards of service and safety.
- Exhibit a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude at all times.
- Read and communicate effectively in the English language, both orally and in writing.
- Apply basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to ensure accurate calculations and transactions.
- Stand for extended periods, bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching out with your body, arms, and/or legs as needed.
- Lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 30 lbs. and 15 lbs. frequently, adhering to our safety standards.
- Be punctual and maintain consistent attendance, demonstrating a strong commitment to your role and our organization.
- Respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers, members of the business community, and/or regulatory agencies, showcasing your excellent communication skills.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent GED is strongly preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted.
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants is preferred.
- Must be at least eighteen years of age to serve alcoholic drinks.
