Job Description

At Autokiniton, we are seeking a skilled Die Setter to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating prog presses, assembling, installing, and aligning dies, and ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate prog presses and ensure proper die alignment and setup.
  • Assemble, install, and align dies in press, and start the press to observe operation.
  • Inspect work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjust machine to correct errors.
  • Report any problems to the Supervisor and identify all dies and part numbers on all presses.
  • Use feeder, straightner, and press controls properly on all prog presses.
  • Set up proper flatness of steel on all prog presses and obtain first piece approval on prog, tandem, robotic tandem, and transfer presses.
  • Follow established procedures and fill out and submit appropriate paperwork for die changes.
  • Operate crane and lift truck as required at setup or to assist production, steel receiving, or tool room.
  • Document, record, and submit setup dates on new jobs and assist with production and make ready such as scrap chutes, oilers, sensors, etc.
  • Program smart pacs on prog presses and do fundamental trouble shooting on items such as stock alignments, robot, and end of arm tooling, fingers, etc. during setup and production run.
  • Pre-stage material, dies, chutes, etc. and check steel availability, track and record die set time, and meet established setup times.
  • Run presses during lunch breaks or absences if necessary and de-stage jobs by pulling dies, saving last piece, returning hardware, chutes, etc. to appropriate storage location, and also pre-stage for the next job.
Requirements
  • Responsible for reading and understanding the TS16949 and ISO-14001 procedures located at K:/winapps/data/TS Team/Procedures.
  • Excellent attendance and cooperative attitude.
  • Able to work required overtime with minimal notice and maintain high housekeeping standards and good safety record.
  • Provide some own hand tools and able to obtain company crane and hilo license.
  • Valid drivers license.
