Pediatric Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pediatric Nurse to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a Clinical RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to children and adolescents in our pediatric clinics.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect patient care to children and adolescents in our pediatric clinics.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and emergencies.
- Document patient information in the electronic health record.
- Schedule referrals for patients with specialists or outpatient services.
- Complete patient forms and requests medical records/correspondence to be scanned into the electronic health record.
- Provide teaching and education to patients and family members regarding health maintenance and medical illnesses.
- Perform diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures.
- Prepare and assist physicians with patient examination, specimen collection, minor surgical procedures, and treatment of patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of patient and workplace safety and take necessary steps to prevent errors, accidents, and infections.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program and current Iowa license to practice as an RN.
- BSN preferred.
- Adolescent/Pediatric experience preferred.
- Certification applicable to specialty area, i.e. Certified Diabetes Educator, APHON, PALS must be obtained within first year of hire.
- Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
- Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
