This role involves conducting tests in both laboratory settings and field environments, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement of processes and products to guarantee the highest quality outcomes for our end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement comprehensive manual and automated testing methodologies in a controlled environment, collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Formulate testing strategies and detailed procedures to assess the functionality, safety, and accuracy of weapon control systems.
- Create testable requirements and documentation outlining testing strategies and execution plans based on system specifications.
- Design, execute, and refine both manual and automated testing protocols.
- Utilize testing tools for requirements verification, environmental validation, and system performance assessments.
- Provide support for field testing and off-site evaluations.
- Communicate test plans, progress, and results effectively in both written and verbal formats.
- Participate in the installation and evaluation of systems in various locations.
- Diagnose system issues collaboratively with development teams, documenting findings and actions.
- Engage with technical teams through regular meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical field, or equivalent experience in weapon system applications or military training.
- A minimum of three years of full-time experience in designing, implementing, and executing testing procedures, along with proficiency in using testing tools for validation and performance testing.
- At least two years of experience testing software-intensive Department of Defense weapon systems.
- Proven knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
- Experience in developing testing strategies and detailed procedures based on system requirements.
- Ability to conduct verification, validation, performance, and acceptance testing in a rapid development context.
- Capability to work independently and maintain professional interactions with government agencies, contractors, and military personnel.
- Support for remote testing events as required.
- Physical ability to transport equipment over distances and pass necessary medical evaluations.
- Familiarity with Linux and UNIX operating systems.
- Understanding of best practices in Test and Evaluation and rapid development processes.
- Knowledge of Weapon Systems and Command & Control Systems.
- Insight into rapid acquisition processes.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced field environment.
