Your responsibilities.

Your role will encompass, but not be limited to:

  • Technical Duties
    • Examine returns for partnerships, including federal, foreign, state, and local tax returns, estimated payments, extensions, and assist with Federal and State Tax audits; with potential corporate or individual tax clients.
    • Engage actively with investment fund clients (private equity, venture capital, real estate, fund of funds, SBIC, etc.), focusing primarily on partnership entities and tiered structures.
    • Establish suitable tax objectives, scope, and methodology while collaborating with client management to comprehend the broader implications of current decisions and potential solutions.
    • Identify tax strategies and opportunities for clients, including federal or state credits or items arising from tax law modifications.
    • Effectively utilize available technology (e.g., CCH Axcess and/or GoSystem) and other resources to enhance technical application to projects, holding the engagement team to the same standards.
    • Act as the primary engagement manager, responsible for billing, realization, and collections.
  • Relationship Development and Team Leadership
    • Engage in internal and external networking opportunities, including client meetings and industry events.
    • Contribute to business growth initiatives, including proposal development and sales presentations.
    • Oversee and mentor a team of 1-2 associates on each engagement, focusing on client engagement management and applied technical tax expertise.
    • Gain immediate exposure to work directly with Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners internally, as well as Accounting Managers, Controllers, and C-Suite executives externally.
  • Firm Contributions
    • Participate in the annual CORE training program, which emphasizes the development of core competencies to facilitate your growth within the firm.
    • Engage in various non-billable initiatives, including recruiting, internal training facilitation, mentoring programs, and development of thought leadership content.

Qualifications.

  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting.
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA or Bar License is required.
  • Qualified candidates must either reside in or near the specified locations or be willing to relocate for this opportunity. Client travel throughout the region, with occasional overnight stays, may be necessary.
  • This position may be filled as a Manager or Senior Manager based on relevant experience.
