Position Overview
The Elementary Saxophone Educator will provide instruction to students in both small group settings (saxophone studios) and larger group formats (woodwind sectionals) for elementary school participants in the Sistema Ravinia Lake County program.
This role involves reporting to the Program Manager and collaborating with a dedicated team of instructors, all committed to inspiring students while upholding the core values and mission of Sistema Ravinia.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will exemplify exceptional teaching skills, artistic talent, mentorship qualities, and serve as a role model for students within the Sistema Ravinia framework. This position is part-time and compensated on an hourly basis during the seasonal instructional period.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver instruction in repertoire, technique, and music theory through both woodwind sectionals and saxophone studios.
2. Support large ensemble rehearsals as required.
3. Promote student empowerment and focus on the comprehensive education of each child.
4. Engage students by developing and implementing innovative lesson plans that encourage both social and musical development.
5. Actively participate in collaborative term planning and professional development sessions to create and execute a progressive curriculum and teaching methodology that supports the holistic growth of each child.
6. Continuously assess student progress and ensure alignment with the curriculum.
