Automation Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team at Ideal Industries. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems using Rockwell Automation products.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, developing, implementing, and troubleshooting control systems using Rockwell software and hardware. This includes expertise in Rockwell PLCs, HMIs, motion control, and related technologies, as well as a deep understanding of control theory, automation, fluid power systems, and process optimization.
Responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and implementing control systems using Rockwell Automation products
- Conducting hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of Rockwell control systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Developing and programming Rockwell PLCs using RSLogix 500 and 5000/Studio 5000, and configuring FactoryTalk View for HMI development
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate Rockwell control systems with other system components
- Creating and maintaining detailed documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and software code
- Specifying, designing, constructing, and installing electrical panels and associated machine wiring
- Conducting testing, commissioning, and validation of control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and Rockwell best practices
- Providing technical support and training to production and maintenance personnel on Rockwell systems
- Continuously improving control systems and processes through data analysis, system monitoring, and feedback from stakeholders
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field, or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Proven experience in control systems design, implementation, and troubleshooting, with a strong emphasis on Rockwell Automation products, is required. Proficiency in programming Rockwell PLCs and configuring HMIs using Rockwell software tools is also necessary.
