Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Department Technician II to join our team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a key member of our emergency department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with direct and indirect patient care activities, including activities of daily living, comfort care, and nutritional support.
  • Perform selected diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures as directed by licensed physicians.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Collect and document patient data as pertinent to the patient population.
Requirements
  • Current EMT-P/Paramedic certification/licensure in Virginia.
  • AHA ACLS Certification.
  • AHA PALS Certification or equivalent within 90 days of hiring.
  • NAEMT PHTLS, ACS ATLS or equivalent within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of active pre-hospital service.
  • Previous hazardous materials experience.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and interact with patients and families in a calm and professional manner. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to frequent changes and work effectively in a team environment.

This position requires the ability to work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays. Schedules will be established with your manager and may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements.
